Programs
In the coming year Mock Turtle looks forward to offering three different choices of programs. These very “bookish” productions all emphasize the need to read and use the library for doing, making and dreaming.
Tinker, Tailor, Puppet-Maker
New for the coming summer, Mock Turtle presents it show all about making things. Featuring puppet-maker Doug Roysdon, the show follows the trail of an artist growing up, book by book and puppet by puppet.
Book, Beast and Puppet
Based on a fine parade of literary animal characters, this is a show all about learning how to read. Meet the Cat and the Fiddle, Br’er Rabbit and the Bremantown musicians in person!
The Puppet Zoo
The Puppet Zoo is designed to support the work of the library in image, word and performance. This very participatory puppet show culminates in a puppet-making workshop the whole family can join. Mock Turtle brings all the supplies and equipment plus some ideas for follow-up activities.
“I would like to recommend your program to other librarians/educators. A picture is worth 1,000 words and your marionettes are SO amazing.” – Karen Eastlund -Raritan Public Library
