Dancing Granny

grannyTumbling onto the stage, marionettes, shadow puppets, a lion mask puppet and the Great bird of Mali, The Dancing Granny is a spectable with great appeal for all ages. The tales include familiar characters like spider Anansi, Brer Rabbit, Boss lion and Mali Kono who stands over twelve foot tall. 

Featuring singer-storyteller Grace Adele and puppeteer Doug Roysdon, the play captures the fascinating variety of the African arts and delivers an enthusiastic message of cultural appreciation.

Workshops

Puppet-Making:  Make your own lion puppet.  Groups can be as large as sixty children and we supply all the materials.

African-American Songs, Spirituals and Stories:  Join singer Grace Adele, and hear some of America’s greatest songs and the stories behind them.
